The 12th Annual EATUC Summit Meeting under the theme “future of work” hosted by ZATUC- Zanzibar took place at Zanzibar ocean view resort from 9th to 10th April 2018.
The well attended Summit brought together more than 35 participants from all six EATUC’s affiliates, as well as cooperating partners from LO-FTF Council, FES, LO-Norway, Solidarity Center and ILO, sub – regional trade union organizations from SATUCC and OTUWA, regional trade union organizations from ITUC-Africa and OATUU. Also the Summit was attaended by Ms Maria Helena Andre Director ILO-ACTRAV from Geneva Switzerland and Wellington Chibebe Director ILO-Dar es Salaam office
12th Annual EATUC Summit meeting was officially opened by minister of labour, empowerment, women, youth and children of Zanzibar revolutionary government hon. Maudline Cyrus Castico. During her opening remarks she said the revolutionary government of Zanzibar through ministry of labour, empowerment, elders, youth , women and children is working in collaboration with ZATUC in promoting labour rights and welfare, she assured that the revolutionary government of Zanzibar is well committed to work with trade unions for the betterment of the workers,
During the 12th Annual EATUC Summit meeting among others, EATUC Strategic Plan(2018 – 2022) was adopted
