Regional Conference – Social Dialogue in East Africa, 7th – 8th September 2017, Arusha Tanzania

East African Trade Union Confederation (EATUC) and East African Employers Organization (EAEO) Secretariats in collaboration with their cooperatinng partners Danish Industry (DI) and LO-FTF Council organized a two day Regional Conference on Social Dialogue in East Africa from 7th to 8th September 2017 in Arusha Tanzania

The regional conference brought together more than thirty participants, including the CEOs/Executive Directors from employer’s organizations, Secretaries General from trade unions confederations, national project coordinators of social dialogue project, representatives from DI/LO-FTF Council and EAC Secretariat.

The main objective of the meeting was to provide a platform to present EAEO/EATUC joint position paper on portability of social security benefits to the political leaders for discussion and adoption as well to discuss general performance of the social dialogue project.

Additionally, the meeting also focused on providing guidance to EAEO/EATUC for forthcoming engagement as well to revise the work plan for national activities for 2017 and develop the new work plan for 2018
