The East African Trade Union Confederation (EATUC) has  organized a two day Youth and Women Conference on 11th to 12th September 2018 at Tom Mboya Labour College in Kisumu Kenya. The Conference brought together more than 25 youth and women committee leaders from all six EATUC’s affiliates.

The objectives of the Youth and Women Conference were to build the capacities of youth and women committee leaders, sharing experiences/good practices from their respective countries and to elect the leaders of EATUC Women Committee

During the conference, the EATUC Women Committee leaders were elected as follows:-

  1.        Chair Person         -  Theresa  Wambuko - Kenya
  2. Vice Chair Person - Valentine Cimpaye - Burundi
  3. Secretary               - Victoria Kakooza - Uganda                                    
  4. Gender - Rehema Rashid Ludanga – Tanzania Mainland
  5. Communication - Jesicah Akasina - Kenya
  6. Education  - Dativa  Mukarizima - Rwanda                                         
  7. Organizing and Recruitment  - Mwanamkuu Mgeni - Zanzibar
